In 1970, Sean Manchester, vampirologist, shocked the world when he announced on television that the Highgate
Cemetery, London, was most probably the haunt of a vampire.
Sean said that in 1967 two teenage students were walking past the North Gate of the cemetery, when they saw graves
opening and bodies rising into the air. He went on to say that a few weeks later a young couple were terrified by a
floating apparition behind the same gate.
Since then there have been many more sightings and investigations and, although Manchester finally reported that the
vampire has been destroyed, it is commonly agreed that only a fool would enter the cemetery after dusk.
