A Book of
Shadows is a personal journal of magic. It is the place to write down magic spells,
rituals and other magical information that you learn as you pass through life. Some people also write down their thoughts, feelings, and experiences
in the book,
although these can be recorded separately in a Book of
Mirrors.
It is common practice to use the Theban alphabet to encode text that needs
to remain secret.
"The" Book of Shadows is quite different to "a" Book of Shadows. The Book of
Shadows is a collection of magical texts that form the core of Wicca. The
book contains ethics, philosophy, rituals and magic.
